We celebrated Christmas with my side of the family on the weekend before Christmas this year as this is the year that all my siblings spend Christmas with their in-laws. All in all it was a good day, but it started out pretty rough for our family. Jack had a stomach virus that had begun the day before. He had been in terrible pain the night before and the morning of our scheduled get-togehter. He went from being upset that he was going to have to miss Christmas to asking if he had to go... he felt really terrible! By the time it was almost time to celebrate with the Selkes though, he was feeling better. He knew he would not be able to join the festivities, but he asked if he could go over to my sister's house and have the ones that wanted to bring his gift to the car for him. I thought that was a great idea.

Catching Up December: Christmas With The Selkes 12/20
Jack opened his gifts in the back of the van.
~ a very bad photo of those that came out to say hi to Jack before he headed back home with Corey ~
So, Corey and Jack headed home for the day, and Allie, Cooper, and I stayed at my sister's house to celebrate with that side of our family. It was kind of sad for me to be having Christmas without all of "my parts", but we still had a good time eating Mexican food, exchanging gifts, playing with cousins, celebrating Sara's birthday, telling stories from the past, and laughing a lot.
~ my dad, ready for the gift exchange to begin ~
