Tonight I was so excited to be able to post photos on my blog and check a few blogs that I have not been able to look at in over 2 weeks. Corey walked by and said, "Are you scratchin' your blog?" Either it just struck me as funny or it was hilarious! I mean really... that is what it feels like. Scratchin' an itch. :)
Although we have been moved for 2 weeks, there are still many, many, many things to be settled. One of them, until tonight, was my computer (as opposed to Corey's computer). My computer (the Mac) is the one that we store all of our photos on, so I have not been able to post any pictures of the very significant events that we have experienced over the last couple of weeks. (And I have missed it!!!) Here are some of them...
My 2-year-old niece, Skyler, is spending the night with us tonight while her daddy is on a fishing trip and her mommy is at a bachelorette party for a friend. She has been so fun to have around... and a reminder of the difference in the pitch of girls' squeals and boys'. :) It is always fun to watch her and Cooper play and even fuss a bit as they learn more about sharing and patience and things like that. She gives out "I love yous" freely, and she is easy to love!
Tonight I was laying down with her as she was trying to go to sleep. She was a little sad. She missed her mom & dad, but I was able to read to her and talk to her to distract her a bit. After laying and chatting for a while, she said, "MiMi, I am going to grow up... and I am going to leave here." I was sad that she wasn't quite comfortable, and I said, "Oh Skyler, I am going to miss you so much. Where are you going to go?" And she said, "I am going to a party with my mommy's friends. They are going to be my best friends." Then a minute later... "But I luuuuv you, MiMi. And I love holding your finger." I melted.
A few seconds later she said, "I am going to close my eyes now." And we dozed off... holding each other's fingers.
Last night Corey and I went out for his birthday. He wanted to go to an Irish pub to celebrate. We had never done anything like that, and I must admit I wondered if we 2 old married people would have fun being out way past our bedtime... at a pub, but we had a great time! We went to 2 different places in the city... they were cozy, there were bands playing Celtic music and people singing along, and there were even a few people dancing Irish jigs. We will definately go back sometime.

Tonight I had:
*a chest of drawers (without drawers in it) in my kitchen and the drawers for said chest in my living room - all waiting to be painted
*2 mattresses and bunk bed frames in my living room because some sweet friends wanted to share (and we are very thankful!)
*a small bookshelf in the hall in front of my bedroom door because there was simply no where else for it at the moment
*a master bathtub full of dirty clothes that need a new dryer before they can be washed at home (the old house had a gas hookup, the new house has electric... and there is no where else for all of the dirty clothes)
*another mattress blocking the doorway to one kid's room and boxes blocking the door to another kid's
*a stack of stuff in the garage that fell over when I arrived home and opened the garage door
*so many boxes I cannot see straight
*kids that had unfinished homework at 10pm
Tonight, I have had it! I am throwing in the towel, going to bed, and hoping that a beautiful blue fairy comes and "poofs" it all away while I sleep.
