Yesterday our family walked past a grand opening of an emergency clinic in town and stopped to get balloon animals from the clown, eat some free popcorn, and visit with the firemen. One of them asked the kids if they wanted to go look at the firetruck. Of course they did. They were all 3 inside of it when the firemen got a call on their radios. "Medical Emergency" The firefighters stayed calm of course, but my blood started pumping as we had to grab the kids from the truck and watch the real-life rescue heroes go to work. They all jumped in the firetruck, turned the lights and sirens on, and were off... It was exciting!
On the way home the kids were having the funniest conversation...
Jack: I could never be a fireman. I would be "glazing" hot if I had to go into a fire.
Allie: Not if you were a fireman in New York. It is cold there.
